birdwatching is for everyone! in a society that values equality (let’s keep working on that), being able to take a walk & fill your lungs with clean air should be available to anyone who wants to stroll forth into the wide world & explore.

RADICAL BIRD CLUB wants to twist the narrative that observing our avian pals is the sole preserve of old white people – & i’m speaking as an old, white person who’s a total neophyte when it comes to ornithology. we’re located in alva, scotland – but we’d love to see RBC chapters across the globe.

as the planet becomes less hospitable to sentient life, RBC aims to be a grassroots movement that will convince unlikely candidates of the meditative benefits of dinosaur-spying.

RBC strives to be inclusive* to adults** of any age, class, sexuality, race & ability. you don’t even have to know anything about birds. it’s just walking, talking, observing, listening & being with other people who want to appreciate the natural bounty around us – whether you’ve been doing it for years or are just realising that it’s kind of your thing.

*does not include bigots, fascists, sexists, racists, homophobes or ableists

**must be okay with general sweariness, so not recommended for anyone under 16

spy on dinosaurs

if you’re reading this, you probably know that the modern bird is REALLY – like ‘backed up by science’ LITERALLY – a dinosaur (not in the tory sense). it’s official. &, i mean, who doesn’t want to engage in a bit of jurassic espionage?

meet cool geeks

birdwatching is for everyone! yeah, i know that’s hard to believe when old white people are its totem. we want the meditative mental health benefits of dinosaur-spying to be accessible & inclusive. you don’t even have to know anything about birds. it’s just walking, talking, observing, listening & being with other people who want to appreciate the nature around us – whether you’ve been doing that for years or are just realising that it’s kind of your thing.

no nazis

we don’t have anything against old &/or white people, but if you don’t have room in your life for some colour & diversity…well, don’t bother with the radical bird club. you can F(irecrest) O(sprey). to make it abundantly clear: RBC is for artists, dreamers, LGBTQI, neurodivergents, treehuggers & harmless oddballs of all colours & nationalities.
